Gil's Loves Local
Developing strong relationships with our customers and communities is a priority at Gil's. From sponsorships to donations to volunteerism, we are committed to supporting our neighbors. In 2018, we expanded on this idea and kicked off our successful "Gil's Loves Local" initiative that supports and promotes local business by featuring local chefs, local artisans, local products and local farms from around the state. Events include "Lunch & Learn" demonstrations for designers and builders, cooking demonstrations open to the public, as well as limited-seating seasonal cooking classes featuring local chefs and local ingredients planned in collaboration with Edible Rhody Magazine and hosted in the Gil's Bristol demonstration kitchen. Won't you join us as we eat local, shop local, and support our local communities?
Chef Events
Gil's Appliances and Edible Rhody have teamed up to bring you a series of "Gil's Loves Local" events that highlight the best of local, seasonal ingredients prepared by inspiring local chefs. Guests learn chef tips and tricks that they can take back to their home kitchens, while enjoying delicious tastings and valuable local giveaways.

Cooking Demonstrations & Designer Events
There is always something to learn in the kitchen at Gil's! We host a number of cooking demonstrations throughout the year that are open to the public. Guests learn about different cooking methods and techniques, and can ask cooking or appliance-specific questions of a professional chef or Gil's knowledgeable and friendly staff. Our annual holiday cooking and carving class is always a hit!
Design professionals can join us for one of our Professional Development events that focus on a number of important kitchen design topics. Events are typically held as a Lunch & Learn format or a late day reception.

Community Engagement
From corporate sponsorship of local youth sports teams, community festivals, and the iconic Bristol Fourth of July Concert Series, to financial and product donations for school and community groups, Gil's is committed to supporting family and community values. Our philanthropic partnerships with community organizations such as We Share Hope, RI Child & Family, Star Kidz, Lucy's Hearth, Sophia Academy, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center, Blithewold, the Bristol Santa House and the Bristol Fourth of July Committee allow us special opportunities to give back to our communities.

Family & Community, Since 1961
For almost 60 years, the Almeida family has been proudly serving customers in RI and Southeastern MA. Co-owners and sisters, Lisa Sienkiewicz and Gail Parella, continue a tradition of trust, integrity and value started by their parents, Gil & Sarah Almeida, in 1961. Lisa and Gail took over the business from their parents in 1995 and have raised their own families within the walls of Gil's, just as their parents did. Following in their parents' footsteps, Lisa and Gail strive to be a reassuring and supportive presence in their community. And in 2017, a high honor was bestowed on the sisters when they were named Chief Marshals of the 232nd Bristol Fourth of July Celebration for their commitment to family and community values and local commerce.
